Fastest Phone of 2015: Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6 vs Nexus 6

Smartphones have evolved a lot. From being just a device which was used for calling, mobile phones are now used in every aspect of life. No matter if you are a student, a professional or businessmen, the smartphone is your basic need, and life seem incomplete without a smartphone. When it comes to smartphones, there are huge number of brands available in the market. There are smartphones which will cost you only 5k, and there are smartphones which will cost you 50k. However, a smartphone is measured by its performance. No doubt, you will have to shell out some money for buying a smarter and faster phone but, it’s totally worth it. There are many high-end smartphones, and you will find Samsung Galaxy S6, iPhone 6 and Nexus 6 at the top of the list of flagship phones. In this post, we are going to compare these three smartphones in details and will try to find out which is the fastest among them.

Samsung Galaxy S6 is made up of a perfect blend of Glass and Aluminium. It features Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on both sides of the device which makes it look shiny and classic. The phone is only 6.8mm thick and weighs 138gm only. It features a 5.1” Super AMOLED display with 575ppi which is considered as one of the best display in the smartphone market.

iPhone 6 falls short in term of display and screen size. It is made up of specially crafted Aluminium with rounded edges which look decent. It features a 4.7” IPS display with 325ppi which is protected by Oleophobic coating. It is 6.9mm thick and weighs 129gm.

Google Nexus 6 features a mammoth 6” screen with 489ppi and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone looks huge thanks to the big display and is 10.1mm thick and weighs 184gm. The phone looks almost similar to Moto X with Motorola’s trademarked M at the back side of the device.

You can also opt for OnePlus One in terms of looks and design. OnePlus One features a 5.5 inch full HD display with 401ppi. The sandstone finish at the back of the device makes the phone premium in looks and offers an excellent grip.

Samsung Galaxy S6 is the clear winner in terms of performance. It features whopping 8 core processor. It is powered by a 2.1 GHz Octa Core Exynos 7 processor and is supported by a 3GB of RAM. It boasts of Mali-T760MP8 as a GPU and offers excellent multitasking and gaming experience. Although, the phone heats a lot and temperature of the device reaches up to 38 degrees Celsius.

iPhone 6 again falls short in terms of performance. However, the phone looks very weak on paper but, in reality it performs well. Despite having a Dual core processor and only 1GB of RAM, iPhone 6 delivers stunning multitasking. It is powered by 1.4GHz Apple A8 chip and features Power VRGX 6450 GPU. Heating is not an issue in iPhone 6 and phone remains at 30-32 degree Celsius at maximum usage.

Nexus 6 features a powerful processor with clock speed of 2.7GHz. It is equipped with a Qualcomm 805 Snapdragon 805 Quad core processor that is capable of handling heavy gaming and 4K videos at ease. It is supported by a 3GB of RAM and runs on Adreno 420 GPU. The temperature of the device reaches up to 36 degrees Celsius at maximum usage which is good but, not the best.

LG G4 is also an excellent choice in terms of performance. It is powered by a six core processor clocked at a speed of 1.82GHz and is supported by a 3GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy S6 runs on latest Android 5.0 out of the box and features TouchWiz UI. Samsung also offers some of its own apps and customization options. Previous models of Samsung Galaxy series were criticized for its UI which used to lag a lot with time. However, Samsung has done some changes to the UI and now it looks good and fully functional.

Apple iPhone 6 runs on latest iOS 8 and has its own UI. Apple’s operating system is totally different from Android devices and is known for excellent lag-free performance.

Nexus 6 is a pure stock Android and was the first device to feature Android Lollipop 5.0. It is a stock Android which means you can customize the phone as per your wish and there are no additional apps apart from Google’s own set of applications.

In terms of Software, Nexus 6 is far better than both S6 and iPhone 6 thanks to stock Android in it.

Samsung Galaxy S6 is the clear winner in terms of Camera performance. It features a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and Optical Image Stabilization. There is a 5MP wide angle front camera and f/1.9, 28mm lens. S6 boasts of one of the best cameras in smartphones and delivers stunning detailed pictures with crisp colors and saturation.

Apple iPhone 6 features an 8 MP rear camera but, despite such a low pixel ratio, it delivers images with excellent quality and detailing. It is equipped with a lens of f/2.2 and there is no Optical Image Stabilization feature in it. The front camera is only 1.2MP and clicks decent images.

Nexus 6 features a 13MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization and LED flash. There is a lens of f/2.0. The circular LED flash of Nexus 6 adds more clarity and brightness into the images. The front camera is of 2MP.

All the three devices can shoot and record 4K videos easily.

Final Conclusion

Samsung Galaxy S6 is better in terms of performance and camera quality while Nexus 6 is good in terms of Operating System and UI. Apple iPhone 6 falls behind in almost every aspect and is also overpriced. If you are looking for a high-end flagship device, go for Galaxy S6.
