This restaurant entrepreneur comes from a humble Macedonian family which was involved in simple farming. He was only an infant when his parents immigrated to Canada with little possessions to their family name. His father, then took a position as a cook while the mother worked in the factory. With time, they were able to save up just enough to open a small 50-seater diner in Toronto. The Moonlight Grill is what it was called and was located on Queen Street East. It was then that Zoran Kocovski, developed an interest and flipped his first eggs and hand peeled a sack of potatoes at the young age of 8 years. His dad had an impeccable entrepreneurial spirit of which Zoran was inspired. His father would put so much value on an honest day’s work of which Zoran says that it motivates him till today.
Zoran attended the York University, as education was an integral part of his family. After which he ventured into various businesses of which he found himself back to the core of his upbringing, the restaurant business. This marked the inception and launch of Sassafraz restaurant.
This five star rated restaurant is a modern restaurant that serves Canadian cuisine inspired by the French dishes. It located in the heart of Yorkville in Toronto, Ontario along 100 Cumberland Street. The opening hours are from 11:30 am to 11:00 pm from Sunday to Thursday, while on Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant runs from 11 am to 1 am. Guest are generally required to book a reservation in advance due to the long guest lists especially during the weekends. This high-end restaurant also provides other facilities.
