The New Look Of Twitter

The most wanted thing on the Earth is social media. Everyone using Internet has several profiles on various social media site. Every site has its own peculiarity, its own features & due to this, comes the competition.

Few months back, Facebook came up with a new FB profile – Facebook Timeline. This new profile has an option to add a cover photo on the profile. Soon then, Google Plus added the cover photo feature on the G+ profile. There have been introduction of many features on Google Plus & Facebook. But till date, Twitter was never in the picture, when I recently heard of cover photo on Twitter.

Founded in 2006, which is known for the celebrity updates & which has an user base of around 140 million users who update 340 million tweets each day, Twitter, which has recently introduced an option to add cover photo on Twitter profiles. This update from the firm valued @ $8 billion, is one of the biggest events on the Internet which is going to influence all Film stars, Politicians, Sportsmen etc…

How To Add A Header Photo On Twitter

To add a cover photo on Twitter, follow the following steps:

  1. Click on the gear icon, which is on the top right hand side of the Twitter profile. ( See Image 1)
  2. Now click on “Settings” option. Then a new page will open. ( See Image 1)
  3. You will find various options on the left hand side; click on “Design” option. ( See Image 2)
  4. Now scroll down a bit, you will find a heading named “Customize your own
  5. Just below the above heading, you will find the button named “Change header” & here it goes.

You can upload a cover picture with a recommended dimension of 1200*600 & of a max file size of 5 MB.

After introducing the new feature of cover photo, the authorities of Twitter wrote the following on their blog:

New profiles also help you get to know people better through their pictures. Photo streams now appear below anyone’s most recent Tweets on iPhone, Android and iPad. Swipe through the stream to see the photos other users have shared or tap any thumbnail to view their photos in full screen.
